No SB cause they lost 2 last week (albiet on the road).

Pomona still doesn't have the number of quality wins and too many bad losses (for now)

As far as the a PacWest, those three teams have a legitimate reason for being there Chaminade the least of which. Dixie has wins over West Wash, Seattle Pac, Anchorage, and Chaminade. All quality wins. But they still have to play Grand Canyon, Chaminade, and BYU.

Pac West gets four teams in top 10. Looks like the Pac West is the Power Conference. In this senario, the CCAA gets two teams into the playoffs.

I know the computer rankings are purely for fun, but I think they're much more accurate than the national rankings...and if that's the case, the CCAA is by far the most powerful conference in the west...no offense to the either the GNAC or the Pac West (but mostly the GNAC), but that's just the reality. The CCAA is the highest rated conference in the NATION according to those rankings by far.

So I have a SERIOUS problem w/ these rankings. Pomona is once again peaking at the right time, and would handle every one of those Pac West teams. SF State has beaten Pomona twice and should be in the top 8. In the current situation, the Pac West, a completely inferior conference (that's just the way it is) gets 3 in and the CCAA gets TWO??????????? WTF???

What's with the unfounded respect for the Pac Worst? Who's getting free paid trips to Honolulu? We need some bracket buster games...

I think some inter-conference games in February would really add some spice to the west, especially since the CCAA schedule is so long (22 games).

Proposal: all teams schedule 26 games and leave a Saturday open in February. Those still in the running for a regional spot will participate in some kind of bracket buster scenario around this time in 2012...and that may help sort some of this out and expose some teams.

I know it won't happen, but we can dream, eh?

Jacks @ Pomona on Friday night...Pomona wins both this weekend and they enter the regional rankings. If they don't, they most likely get to look forward to the CCAA tourney. San Bernardino must win both as well. Nobody's gonna do either team any favors, obviously.

Central Washington didn't lose, so they will remain #1 in the region. Humboldt will definitely jump to #2 after winning two on the road at Pomona and San Bernardino. If they don't, I'll be stunned. D Hills didn't lose though, so it might stay the same. Humboldt deserves to be #2, and actually the current first place team from the CCAA should be #1 in the region considering the fact that the CCAA is the best conference in the region.

They should also have another nice jump in the national poll to around #8...should be even higher; but the clowns that put on that poll are too clueless to credit where it's due. Case in point: Lincoln Memorial, an undefeated team from the South Atlantic Conference is #5 in the country, but they've played absolutely NOBODY. They have no chance to get out of the regional, even though they'll probably host it. Check out who they've played...

They'd have at least 6 losses in conference if they were in the CCAA (assumption yes, but...) Obviously the dudes running the poll only look at records especially early on, although by this time of the year it's getting pretty clear who deserves to be there and some persuasion probably takes place to the voters from other regions.

The voter from the west has one hell of a case for Humboldt State considering its performance over the weekend. The Jacks have proven their mettle and definitely deserve the highest of rankings at this point.

Under Consideration: Montana State Billings (13-9), Saint Martin?s (13-9), Chico State (14-8)

In looking at the Men?s rankings this week, the top three teams took care of business by winning two games. They have separated themselves from the rest of the pack and they will battle it out over the final three weeks to determine who will get the # 1 seed and the right to host the West Regional this year. Based on that information alone, we will keep an eye on Central Washington, Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Humboldt State this week.

Looking at the rest of the Men?s rankings, it is still wide open and we got some critical games coming up. Of course, we have the conference tournaments coming up for the GNAC and the CCAA. In the Pacific West Conference, there is a four way tie at the top of the conference between the following schools: BYU-Hawaii, Chaminade, Dixie State, and Grand Canyon. Starting on February 26th, those four schools will have a series of conference games that will take place in Hawaii. Depending on the outcomes, the Pacific West Conference title could be decided on the night before Selection Sunday, which is March 5th when BYU-Hawaii and Chaminade meet at McCabe Gym. We got a long way to go, but the games are getting bigger as the weeks go by this season.

In the Women?s rankings, the top six teams won their respective games this week so there should be no movement in that area of the rankings. As we go to the bottom part of the rankings, there are several teams that are in the hunt for a spot in the West Regional. Hawaii Pacific, Seattle Pacific, and UC San Diego did their jobs this past week and they appear to be the beneficial of a bad loss at home by Cal State San Bernardino. However, the biggest loser this week was Chico State as they fell on the road at Cal State East Bay, a team near the bottom of the CCAA, and to UC San Diego, who has gotten on track as of late.

This week, keep an eye on Hawaii Pacific. They go on the road to take on Dixie State and Grand Canyon for the first time this season. The Sea Warriors will have a combined total of four games against their biggest contenders for the Pacific West Conference title. Teams from the GNAC and the CCAA are hoping that Grand Canyon and Dixie State win these games as it will most likely knock Hawaii Pacific out of the running for a berth in the West Regional.
